Waking up to find that you're sharing your small tent with a huntsman spider almost the size of your sleeping mat is good for dispelling early-morning lethargic tendencies.

A short time later I returned to the tent, captured "Barkie" in a bucket, and took her outside for a photo session plus a lecture on the unsettling effects of surprising people before their first coffee.
